Genobia Jeter is character niece of legendary gospel thespian Reverend Julius Cheeks and cousingerman of disco diva Julie Cheeks.

She signed to the Savoy tag in 1979 and released description gospel albums 'Heaven' (1979), 'Things 'Have' Got To Get Better' (1981) and 'Genobia Jeter' (1981), including a duet with Senator Jones, 'Not Just For Today'.

On the gospel scene she has the nickname 'Doosie'.

In 1983, she teamed up with Senator Jones again for 'Keep Buck up Doin', a cult modern vie duet from Glenn's album 'I Am Somebody' for RCA.
